TIPS FOR FINDING GOOD ACCOMMODATION

3 TIPS FOR FINDING AND BOOKING THE PERFECT VACATION RENTAL

TO BOOK A VACATION RENTAL OR A HOTEL?

Plan your vacation rental

KNOW WHAT YOU WANT

When you begin the search for your rental home, know what amenities you’re looking for and what you’re willing to pay for the space you need.  A lot of times you will save money by booking a rental but be sure you know what’s provided to justify the price.
For instance, if you’re traveling for a family reunion or a big wedding weekend, figure out how many bedrooms and bathrooms you need. Try to find a host who provides linens and towels included in their pricing. Often times, the rentals that accommodate large crowds will provide almost everything you need, including complimentary shower essentials, paper products and cleaning supplies.
The majority vacation home pricing takes into consideration things like the fully stocked kitchen, the extra propane tank out back for the grill and private on-site parking. Amenities like these certainly allow you to walk right in and gives you that feeling of home which makes the home well worth the rental rate!

The Places You'll go

DO YOUR HOMEWORK

When you’re tasked with finding the perfect vacation rental for your group, it is completely normal to experience trepidation. It’s a big endeavor! However, the places that are worthy of reserving make the process extremely easy by responding quickly and giving you that personal touch that you don’t get from those large corporate hotel chains!
The quality of the home must be readily apparent. Look for professional photos inclusive of the entire house and read the detailed description carefully. The devil is in the details! You want to make sure you understand the property so it’s in your best interest to review the photos and the description as one full piece. Don’t hesitate to ask questions – it’s the hosts’ job to answer clearly and thoroughly. Good hosts will walk you through the entire process and outline next steps so you know exactly what to expect. This is your chance to get to know them so you feel comfortable proceeding with payment.
Due diligence is key! Google search the company or person offering the home. See if they have a Facebook or other social media showcasing images and local happenings. Check out their website and get a feel for who they are and the faces behind the homes. And most importantly, worthy homes will have tons of reviews. Read up!

STAY FLEXIBLE

Although I’m biased, I truly believe a vacation rental has oodles of benefits over a hotel room. Rentals are just like your home – they have comfortable living areas that contribute to fond memories and gathering, cable and WiFi, a large kitchen with all the cookware you need to prepare the largest of meals, working appliances, washers, dryers, plush bedrooms with spacious bathrooms, yards, courtyards, and Adirondacks for lounging over conversation and coffee.

But, like any other form of rental or your own home, sometimes things can go wrong. That’s where reputable hosts and choosing a reliable rental company is crucial. If the heat pump stops working on a cold winter day, you’ll need to relay the issue to the contact given upon check-in. You should receive a timely response and solution. Small leaks, clogged toilets, broken towel racks and thermostat issues are par for the course in vacation rental property management. Seasoned hosts will act quickly to ensure your stay is nothing short of fabulous while fixing any issues behind the scenes in the fastest manner possible.
Whatever your reason is for wanting to check out vacation rentals as an accommodation option, rest assured there are hosts out there who’s ultimate goal is to make your job easier! Begin the research process with clear expectations and decide what you want. Then, simply stick with your gut. If you receive honest, timely communication and quality photos, you’re golden. Reviews tell-all, so definitely read up. And remember, the vacation rental experience is very much a pairing of two parties who are trying to achieve the same goal: a happy, memorable stay!
BONUS TIP: KEEP IN MIND THAT ALTHOUGH INQUIRING AND BOOKING YOUR PERFECT VACATION RENTAL HOME MAY BE SLIGHTLY MORE TIME CONSUMING, THE REWARD IS SO WORTH IT.

ROAD TO STRESS FREE AND SAFETY BEACH VACAY.

A Road to stress free and safety beach vacation tips.

Before hitting the waves, there are a few things to keep in mind. Safety first! You're safety is the most important, here are some Beach Safety tips that you should keep in mind for a safety beach trip.
Check the weather.

Remember how electric devices and the water are composite and it's dangerous when they combine? Neither do lightning and large bodies of water. Check the weather before heading to the beach. Avoid the beach if there’s lightning in the forecast and wait at least 30 minutes after the last thunder boom before heading back out to the sand. Perhaps the beach will always be there tomorrow!
Wear Slippers.

We know feeling the sand between your toes is part of the apotheosis beach experience. But when it’s upwards of 100 degrees outside, the squishy sand doesn’t feel so great and it can even caused burns, Be sure to bring a pair of any slippers with you in case the sand gets unbearably hot for your safety and happy toes.

Be Aware of the Waves.

They’re much more powerful than you think. Injuries resulting from strong waves can range from simple sprains, broken collarbones, and dislocated shoulders to more serious injuries including blunt organ trauma and spinal injuries. Shorebreaks or waves that break directly on shore have the potential to cause serious neck and spinal injuries. When in the water or near the water line (where the water hits the shore), never put your back to the waves. Also be sure to check in with the lifeguard before hitting the surf to ask about the wave conditions at your beach.

Pick a Swimming Spot Close to the Lifeguards.

Lifeguards are there for a reason they know and can see things about the beach that most beachgoers don’t. Take note of where they’re stationed on the beach and stay near them when swimming Most drownings occur at unguarded sites. Also be aware that currents will naturally push you down the shore, so take note of where you started (say, by remembering a stable landmark like the lifeguard’s flag or your brightly-colored umbrella on shore) and which way the current is moving. Return to that spot in the water regularly so you're never far from a lifeguard.

Learn How to Swim.

Swimming Skills Make a big difference, It can reduce the risk of drowning.Ocean swimming is different from swimming in a calm pool, be prepared to deal with strong surf before running in. If you’re at the beach with a child or adult who can’t swim, make sure everyone has a well-fitting lifejacket handy. If you’re going boating, every passenger should wear a properly-sized lifejacket at all times. Also keep in mind that the ocean floor is not flat and beaches can change drastically from year to year. When heading into the water, be aware that the ocean floor can drop off unexpectedly, so don’t move out quickly without being prepared to swim in water over your head.

Find Yourself Some Shade.

A few hours of baking under the sun can cause some seriously uncool symptoms and may even lead to severe sickness. Heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and sun poisoning can all result from dehydration and extended exposure to high temperatures, so make sure to drink plenty of water and avoid dehydrating liquids like coffee or alcohol. Symptoms of heat exhaustion, heat stroke, and sun poisoning include confusion and dizziness, fatigue, headache, muscle cramps or weakness, nausea, excessive sweating or lack of sweating, pale skin, swelling (particularly of the hands or face), rapid heartbeat, and confusion. Sun poisoning can also be indicated by skin redness and blistering, pain and tingling, or fever and chills. If you (or someone you’re with) display any of these symptoms, get out of the sun and heat (umbrellas are your friend), remove any unnecessary clothing, drink plenty of water, and take a cool bath or shower. If symptoms are on the severe side — swelling, confusion, painful and blistering sunburns — it’s best to seek medical attention.

Hydrate and Refill.

Extended exposure to heat and the relaxing effects of waves can make you dehydrate, Make sure to bring water with you to hydrate and refill.

TAKING CARE OF OUR HEALTH

Taking Care of our Mental Health for more Journey of Beautiful Vacation.

In our environment we are heavily loaded with a lot of work, expectations of society, fast tempo of life and pressures from the mass media. We should have a brilliant career and a child before we are thirty, be a loving and passionate partner and a good parent. We should look like people from the commercials and be happy like people from the commercials.

Of course reality is different - more human. Each one of us has his own way and the only right thing is that we catch out own life pace.

But different requests that others have for us, or - very important - that we have for ourselves, can cause internal tensions, restlessness, feelings of anxiety and/or sadness. Maybe we have experienced something terrible, but it is also possible that nothing specified has happened to us.  We all have a chance that we face mental problems and/or disorders. No one is "immune" and they can happen to any of us.

However, at least once in a lifetime everyone faces a certain (greater or lesser) mental crisis. Crises are usually a reflection of changes and are something ordinary, until we can cope with them.

5 tips for increasing inner peace

We can take care of our mental well-being with a daily routine:

-Let's get enough sleep. Although 8 hours of sleep should be enough, people are different. If we feel that we need more sleep, we can go to bed a little earlier or we can compensate some sleepless hours with a prolonged morning sleep on the weekends.

-We should drink enough water or unsweetened tea. We can always have a bottle of water near us that we do not forget to drink. It often happens that we eat but we do not know why. At these moments we have to ask ourselves if we are not hungry, but thirsty. Let's listen to out body.

-More water, less alcohol. Alcohol can cause a hangower anxiety in people who are prone to anxiety in everyday life, so be sure to drink moderately.

-Let's get sporty. We should not think about beautiful body and shape, but ask ourselves which sport would really impress us. Even if we do not master it, we can start practicing it little by little. If instead of looking good we are thinking about feeling good, we will probably choose a different type of sport, which will also represent a bigger source of joy. If we do not feel like running but we like to play squash, we should choose squash, even though we will spend a little less calories.

-We have to find some time only for ourselves. This is not the time when we are passively watching TV, using social media or hanging with our friends, but a time in which we do not absorb innumerable information and we try to focus on "here and now" instead. We can go on a walk where we focus ob observing the nature. We can read  a few chapters of the book that let us forget about the rest of the world. We can lay down and listen to music, perform relaxation techniques (for example, progressive muscle relaxation) or meditate.

When we cannot handle it alone

Sometimes, despite various tips, we can hardly continue without a proper conversation about our thoughts and emotions. Why wouldn't we do something to gain greater inner peace and to walk easier through life?

Firstly, we can talk with a person we trust (e.g. a friend or family member), because sometimes it helps to simply share our thoughts with someone. If we realize that this is not enough for us, we should turn to an expert.

Even though mental problems are often threated as a taboo, we don't need to be afraid or ashamed. If we break an arm, we go to the doctor. So why we don't go to a doctor, when our soul is broken? Let's help to ourselves and find an expert - psychologist or psychoterapist - who will guide us toward greater subjective well-being. Let's be careful and find a person with university education, not self-trained therapist, counselors or healers, because they can worsen the situation. Be courageous, seek help!

A NOTE TO SELF TIPS.

On the Road without having Sick and Stress Going Back and Going Forth.

How do we usually feel before our well-deserved vacation begins? Usually, we cannot wait for it while days seem to be longer and longer. We are exploring different possible activities near our vacation destination and imagine how we will be gazing at the waves with a drink in our hand.

The other side of the medal

Unfortunately, such expectations often bring the other side of the medal. Last two weeks at the school and Workplace we often want to totally finish all our tasks so that we will not be drowning in the work when we return. We are accumulating all our forces because "we will have a break soon anyway". We are not allowing ourselves to rest in this moment and we have not allowed ourselves to rest for the last two months. Every day after the work we commit ourselves to many other obligations, because "we will anyway have a break soon". Instead of lying down at the sofa we run for our exhausting aerobic lesson  because "we will have a break soon anyway".

And what happens next? The day before this "break" we get ill. The body responds to all the efforts in its own way and we can hardly believe that this has just happened to us; that we are sick right before the holidays, that we will not carelessly lie on the beach. That we did not make it through the last two days.

Another option with which we are often coping is not that we get sick (and maybe we do not even try to leave all our resources at the workplace before vacation) but that we do not prepare for the holidays until we are forced to do so in the last day before the travel.

Then we need to take care of the home and clothes, check the tires on the car, pack everything for children, leave the cat with our grandmother, buy some magazines, /.../ while we remember that our library deadline for returning 5 books has just passed and that our health insurance card has expired one month ago. We start travelling with full head of everything while in the car we argue with our partner for three times in one hour because we were sleeping only 5 hours (of course we were packing our last things at 11 pm).

We can ask ourselves: Do we really want to live like this? Do we want to act in a way that harms our physical and mental health? Do we wish that we settle in a new destination in  a bad mood and that we go to the beach without any inner energy?

How can it be better?

In all working months, we can remember that we need to take care of ourselves. Vacations on the amazing beach can be some kind of a reward, but let it be an upgrade of our general relationship to ourselves and to others. Through all the months we can take time for ourselves because everything depends on our priorities. Let's take time when we do nothing. That hour every week, when we lay on the sofa and read our favorite book, listen to music or simply - sleep.

If we are sometimes alone with ourselves, we will be better prepared to cooperate with others. If we do not force ourselves into an extremely hard and busy working week before a vacation, we can actually recharge our batteries in these free days (at least to 80% instead of 40%). Let's organize the work and let's work effectively, but let's also take some breaks. Make sure that the week before you leave for a vacation is almost equal to the res of your working weeks.

Preparations for vacation that can be (as described above) very stressful can also be expanded through more days.

If we do not like to pack the last day when there are still many things to be done, we can pack the day before - why not? Already on Monday, we can make a list of what needs to be done until Saturday morning when we will leave for a vacation. In this way, we can actually start our holidays with a pleasant expectation, a smile on our face and without stress. We would actually be happy with our first visit to a new beautiful beach.

With the right behaviour we can make vacations a real break, not the time which represents some kind of an SOS escape. We do not need to transform this nice time

SAFETY IN ATV TO MT.LUHO

SAFETY IN ATV TO MT.LUHO

Wear Gear.

Always wear safety gear. Helmets, goggles, boots, gloves - it works. There are no seatbelts on an ATV and flipping over is a lot easier than you might think. Be prepared and go home intact.

Inspection

Do a pre-ride inspection every time. Check the tires for wear and rims for damage. Look over your controls and make sure connections and cables are intact. Check the chain for worn links and sprockets for broken teeth and ensure there's enough lubrication.

Don't Ride Alone

Participating in any sport or activity where accidents can and do happen, it's never a good idea to do it alone. Always have a riding buddy and better - have two. Running out of gas, getting lost or crashing is never any fun but it's worse and can be life threatening if you're alone. Besides, who wants to ride by themselves? Grab some friends and make a day of it.

No Drinking and Riding

It's not safe in a car and it's not safe on an ATV. It's no secret - alcohol and drugs impair your judgment and your ability to ride safely. Don't put yourself in jeopardy and don't put others at risk for your risky behavior. Leave the beers for the evening when the gear is packed away.
Tired? Stop Riding

ATV riding is actually a great way to exercise. It demands strength and mental acuity. Overtime however, those bumps, jumps and tight corners wear down even the strongest dudes. If you can feel fatigue setting in, stop riding and take a break. Even if you don't feel tired, if you've been riding all day, take a break, rehydrate and fuel up with some lunch.

One Rider Only

Don't be a goon. Unless you're riding an ATV equipped for two-people, in which case you're probably on a UTV and not screaming through trails, only one person on a quad at any time. No piggy-backing or side riding.

Ride on Designated Trails

Don't ride your ATV anywhere but a designated riding area. Not only is this for the safety of others and prevents unnecessary wear and tear to your machine, but it's also being a good steward of the sport. Ride where it's legal.
Ride the Right ATV
What's the right ATV? As a general rule, only 90cc and larger engines for those 16 years and older. Don't pop your 10 year old on a 250cc ATV.

Be Aware

Know your surroundings. Since you've taken Tip #3 to heart, know where your riding partners are. Look ahead just like driving a car so you can see what's coming. Bumps are fun but when you hit one unexpectedly you can get bounced right off your ride. Look out for critters jumping out in front of your riding path and be cognizant of other riding parties.

No Goon Riding

Probably one of the top reason riders get hurt. Whether it's showing off, trying to see what their quad can do or just plain stupidity, don't ride beyond your ability or perform stunts and tricks you have no business doing.

SCUBA DIVE FOR NON SWIMMERS

Can I Scuba Dive Even Though I Can’t Swim?

This is one of the questions we get asked most frequently by our customers. And the answer is YES – non-swimmers CAN scuba dive!

You do not need to be able to swim or to have had any experience in the ocean to try Scuba Diving.
Wherever you dive in the world, The Padi instructors have been designed to give you a safe and comfortable scuba diving experience even if you can’t swim. So you don’t need to worry about your first ever diving experience – on this programme you’re in good hands. Especially  that our General Manager in Boracay adventures Inc. is one of the Best Padi Instructor.

In over years in the diving industry they have had plenty of experience with non-swimmers and even the  occasional person who has a fear of water! It is not unusual that someone who is fearful of being in the sea still has a compelling urge to go scuba diving. It just proves what a powerful attraction our beautiful underwater world has. The feedback we have is that the experience is literally life-changing!

First Time Nerves
If you’re a non-swimmer it is normal that you will be nervous about your first experience and are bound to be filled with both trepidation and excitement. Express any concerns you have to your instructor and ask questions – there are no silly questions when it comes to scuba diving.

We are frequently asked ‘how deep will I go’? Well the answer is that it depends on you and how comfortable you feel under the water. The maximum depth for this programme is 12 metres but you don’t need to go to this depth to be scuba diving and there is often plenty of exhilarating marine life to see at shallow depths.
For this programme you’re Expert Instructor will go over some basic skills with you and how your equipment works. Then you’ll answer a few questions to make sure you’ve understood what you have been taught.

When it’s time to enter the water, your instructor will normally make the final checks ensuring that you are safe, the weights are securely fastened and the buoyancy control device is inflated correctly.

Taking Your First Breaths
In the water it is important that you stay close to your instructor. Those first few breaths you take underwater are truly amazing and ideally, this will be in shallow water and/or holding on to a rope. Once you feel comfortable and relaxed then your scuba instructor will introduce some basic diving skills to you which include clearing your mask of water and recovering & clearing your regulator. The most important rule in scuba diving is to breathe continuously and NEVER hold your breath.
You will then explore the reef and your instructor will help you to compensate for any buoyancy changes needed to ascend and/or descend so they do all the work whilst you enjoy the beautiful marine life.

Dive Sites
Coral reefs generally thrive in shallow, warm waters that get a lot of sunlight and they provides the ideal environment for beginners who want to see the fascinating fish and marine life, as well asthe vibrant colours that exist underwater in the tropics.

SNORKELING FOR NON SWIMMERS

Can I Snorkel Without Being Able to Swim?

The short answer is YES. Essentially, snorkeling is a surface sport. You don’t even really go entirely under water. Plenty of non-swimmers snorkel all the time – I did it, and there’s no reason you can’t.

It may help a little to know a bunch of things in advance that I didn’t. So here are a few tips that should help make your first experience a lot more fun and comfortable:

1. Choosing a Location:

Snorkeling can often be done closer to the shore, as well as in open water. A lot of people suggest that first-timers and non-swimmers should try and paddle about near the shore with their snorkeling gear. Personally, I disagree; though I do think it’s a good idea to try and use your snorkeling gear in shallow waters first, just to get used to it. Firstly, the marine life near the shore is rarely as vibrant as in open waters. If you decide to snorkel near the shore, you’ll obviously be like “What the fuck! I don’t know what the big deal about this is anyway.” Chances are you’ll not really feel fond of snorkeling if your first experience isn’t such that the rewards successfully offset the discomfort of sputtering about and having water up your nose at least once (don’t worry, it happens to everybody). My genuine advice is to sign-up for one of the many snorkeling trips available in most destinations renowned for snorkeling spots. This will ensure that you are taken to a great spot, there’s legit & qualified personal guidance, and there’s always somebody around to bail you out if something goes wrong.

2. Understand Your Gear, and Insist Upon a Floatation Device:

Considering you’re a non-swimmer, you’ll be given a floatation device anyway, but in case somebody forgets, make sure you insist on one and check it is functioning as desired. Once you have that strapped to you, it is virtually impossible to drown in any water, let alone sea-water. So you have an insurance policy.

Now for the snorkeling gear; typically, this consists of a face-mask and a pair of flippers. The flippers look easy enough, but are the nastiest little things to handle (I may or may not be a little biased after that ridiculous fall-of-shame) – try them on and make sure they aren’t too loose or too tight. If it’s a choice between the two, opt for the latter. You don’t want to lose a flipper in the water.  The face mask takes a little longer to understand. It consists of a snorkel tube that you must put in your mouth and breathe through, and an eye/nose mask which ensures that no air passes through your nose and no water enters your eyes. Make sure that the strap is just below the broadest part at the back of your skull, and ensure it is tight enough so that no air or water may slip in through the eye-mask – a good indicator of this is when you can’t breathe through your nose at all. Next up, the snorkel tube – the part of the tube that goes into your mouth could gross you out if you’re one of those hygiene freaks. People rent-out this equipment, so they usually pass through a lot of mouths.  This isn’t that big a deal though – millions of people do it, and live to tell the tale. If it bothers you a lot, you might consider buying your own snorkel mask. Now this part that goes into your mouth, has a very typical indentation – a part of it is supposed to go behind your teeth-line, and a part is supposed to remain in front. If you clamp down on it correctly, it will form a mould around your teeth, and you will be able to breathe through it without opening your mouth. Also try not clamping down on the tube too hard – particularly once you’re in the water. If you do this, by the time you’re back, your jaw will be really sore; and because you’re likely to be nervous, it invariably happens. Try and remind yourself to relax. Here’s a useful video to help you with your gear – ignore the awkwardness of the woman, it’s quite useful otherwise.

Walk around a little with your equipment on and try to breathe. If you’re clumsy with the flippers like I was, consider wearing them as you just enter the water, as against trying to descend down steps with them on. You’re now almost ready to enter the water 🙂

3. Calm Down and Breathe Slow:

I may be a failure at swimming (not yet…not yet), but there’s one lesson I’ve learned not just from my multiple attempts at a swimming class and my first snorkeling attempt – the more you are able to relax, the better you will be able to float and the better control you have over your movement in water. When I stepped off the last stair and into the open water, within two minutes I was vertical again. I panicked like a pigeon and clung on to the anchor-chain for dear life. After spending another 5 minutes, making somewhat of a laughing stock out of myself, I finally gave myself a stern lecture and let go off the chain. Pretty soon, I figured out I was floating effortlessly, and all I had to do to keep breathing was to keep my snorkel tube above the surface. This helped me relax a lot, and the effect was miraculous. I was able to navigate through the water a lot better, and I almost the entire two hours without once getting water up my nose or mouth.

So here’s the deal guys! It may sound counterintuitive, and it certainly is easier said than done, but the first key to being any good under or on water is to be able to calm the fuck down. Take slow, deep breaths, which go a long way in slowing down your heartbeat. As you begin to relax, reinforce the fact that it is virtually impossible for you to drown with a floatation device, and even if you get into trouble, there’s people around to bail you out.

4. Find Your Personal Comfort Zone:

I couldn’t find a lot of information that was of too much use on the internet, but I did find a LOT of people dishing out different kinds of techniques and advice. I am in no position to verify who was right and who wasn’t, but I am going to be honest and tell you, that unless you’re listening to the instructor or guide on your trip, don’t take anybody’s expertise at face value. I’m going to give you an example to help make this point better. Your face mask is such that if you exhale through your nose too often, your goggles will start fogging eventually. If you aren’t used to breathing completely through your mouth, you’ll invariably exhale through your nose often enough for this to happen on your first attempt. One of the many diving/snorkeling websites on the internet forewarned me of this happenstance, and as a remedy suggested raising the mask and allowing some water to come in, which you could then use to swirl around in the glasses and clear the fog. While this might be a legit trick, it ended as you can imagine, with water up my nose when I attempted it in a flash of misplaced confidence.

What I’m trying to tell you here is that you’ll no doubt hear a lot of advice – the more you ask, the more you receive; but once in there, you’re on your own and your best guide will be your own instinct. It’s ok not to be perfect on your first dive. I mostly stuck at the surface and didn’t venture too deep vertically. The truth is, your technique and comfort will improve with each dive. So for the first attempt, it’s best to focus on trying to enjoy yourself as much as possible without drowning 😉

5. Remain Aware of Your Surroundings and Don’t be a Jerk:

I forget which one it was now, but I do remember one of my swimming gurus once telling me the first rule to swimming: “Respect the ocean. Period!” That remains true with snorkeling and diving in particular. When we’re engaging in these activities, it is important to realize that we are visitors in a precious, beautiful ecosystem. In many cases, because these are protected waters, the fish are fearless and curious, and will actually venture very close. Be sure though, that you do not touch or tread upon any kind of fish, corals or anemones. As small as these actions may seem, collectively, they have a disruptive effect on the ecosystem, which at the least, deserves the same respect with which we’d treat the house of a friend that has welcomed us with great warmth.

Finally, if it’s your first time, needless to mention, be aware of your surroundings. With your vision focused on things below the surface and new-found confidence, don’t forget to keep an eye on where your fellow divers are, and how far you’ve ventured from the ship. The flippers aid your movement, but they also add a certain degree of weight, and if you aren’t used to physical activity, there’s a very real chance that you might cramp up. So don’t push yourself too much or get carried away. It’s only your first time, and if this one goes well, I can assure you there’ll likely be many more 🙂

ACTIVITIES IN THE BEACH FOR NON SWIMMERS

Ideas for non swimmers.

Are you a non swimmer and dont know what to do on and enjoy the beach? Well we have a good news foe you, Here it is - top five water sports you can enjoy even if you don’t know how to swim.

1. Under Water Walking

So what if you can’t go snorkeling? Under Water Walking is as much fun as snorkeling. You get the chance to walk on the ocean floor, to touch the ocean floor with your feet and get up close and personal with the many marvels of the ocean – all you have to do is to wear a see-through oxygen mask so that you can breathe under water. It is very safe and an instructor is always with you. No swimming, just plain old walking!

Walk under the water; come closer to nature in Boracay with Helmet diving experience!

2. Jet Skiing

Speed, thrill and the beautiful waters of Boracay – a heady cocktail for anyone. Jet skiing is one of the most popular water sports in Boracay – and yes, you don’t need to be a swimmer to rev up the engine. You can wear  a life jacket and coast guards are always on the alert  so even if you fall; you would easily float on the water until you are rescued.

Jet-skiing - speed through the waves in Boracay!

3. Glass-bottom Boats

Well, this is something I would definitely recommend. You see, sometimes I like to draw on other people’s experiences too. But let me assure you that no man, woman or child on this planet needs to be a swimmer to get on this boat! The bottom of the boat is made of transparent glass. Once you reach far into the ocean you can actually see colourful creatures and marine plants jostling in the deep ocean. Without actually getting in to the water,  you get to see all the wonderful jewels of the ocean.

4. Banana Boat Rides

A boat in the shape of a banana! Well, who wouldn’t want to get on board that? You get on the boat, you are secured to the boat (so that you don’t fall off) and you go on a merry ride on the frothing waves of the ocean. Go bananas!

Fun & frolic on the banana boat!

5. Fishing

Boracay is a haven for those who love fishing. Although less promoted and less known than the other exciting water sports in Boracay, fishing is a good way to relax and have fun at the same time. The waters of Boracay teeming with so much beautiful fishes. In an effort to promote big game fishing.

TOP 10 ESSENTIAL FOR A DAY OUT BOATING

Top 10 essentials for a day out boating

Boating is quintessentially perfect. Where else can you drop your boat in the water, cruise around the calm waters of the Boracay seaways or venture further out to catch a fish the size you can only dream of?
Although an Filipino national pastime, there are some essentials you need to take on your next boating adventure, whether it is on your friends boat or you’ve decided to hire a boat for the day.
Boracay Adventures Inc. share some tips here to ensure your next boating adventure is a safe and hugely fun one.

  • Slop on some sunscreen

This is a high priority.  The hot Boracay Island sun can scorch skin in a few short minutes and the clear water reflects sunlight even more.
  • Put on a hat

Ensure you have protection for your head. Broad brimmed hats are the best to keep sun off the face and back of the neck.
  • Pop on some sunnies

Sunglasses will protect eyes from harmful UV rays and the harsh reflection from the water.
  • Wear sun smart clothing

Rash vests and rash suits help to keep more of your body protected from the sun.
  • Pack plenty of H20

Have bottled water readily available to stay hydrated during the day out on the water.
  • Bring some nibbles

A day on the water boating and swimming can make you ravenous.  Pack some light food to keep you going until you get back.
  • Bring a towel

To sit on or dry off after taking a dip off the side of the boat.
  • Change of clothes

If you don’t want to spend the ride home in wet clothes, pack an extra set of dry clothes to change into.
  • Fishing gear

If you are a keen angler, be sure to pack fishing gear to catch the one that didn’t get away!
  • Bring a sense of adventure

A day out on the water can be absolutely relaxing or full of fun and excitement. Whatever your plans are, don’t forget to bring a big smile and your sense of adventure.

TIPS FOR SOLO TRAVELERS.

Tips For Solo Travelers.

1. It’s okay to say no. Sometimes, the attention you draw when travelling alone can be a little intense. Make sure you learn how to say “no, thank you” and “absolutely not” in the local language, as well as the local non-verbal gesture for no if travelling in a non-English speaking country. Although travelling solo can seem a little daunting at first, many people love travelling alone and getting to spend their time away exactly as they wish. If this is something you are considering, we have provided some tips to help ensure that you have the best possible experience.

2. Pack a book. If you think you’ll feel a little lonely when out at a bar or restaurant, pulling out a book or magazine is perfectly fine. No one will bat an eye if they see you perusing the gossip columns or with your nose in the latest bestseller, so try not to think they will.

3. Don’t bury your head in it though. Although retreating into the pages of a book can seem like the perfect way to escape curious stares on public transport or in a restaurant, don’t do this all the time. This will ensure that you have opportunities to meet the locals and other travelers.

4. Take lots of photos. Be sure to take plenty of photos of your travels, even just the odd little details you notice about a place. Your family and friends back home will appreciate seeing things from your perspective and the story that comes along with the images.

5. Eat up. It might be tempting to live off fast food to avoid awkward restaurant situations, but don’t let this put you off. In fact, many of the “fancier” establishments are perfect when dining alone – don’t be afraid to take a table for two and eat to your heart’s content!

6. Be aware of safety. Although travelling solo can be very rewarding, you need to be mindful of safety concerns. Take care when out of your room at nighttime, always keep an eye on your drinks, be aware of any local scams and keep a close eye on your valuables at all times.

7. Get an early start. We definitely recommend waking up early, enjoying a leisurely breakfast and heading out to the seaside, museums and other daytime-only activities on offer. By getting out early, you can often ensure that you beat the crowds and get the best possible viewpoint.

We hope that the above tips have put some of your fears to rest, particularly about keeping safe and what to do when you’re feeling lonely. Just remember that there are lots of solo travelers out there, so you’re not alone. Once you’ve traveled alone, we’re sure that you’ll want to do it again and again!
