5 steps to get skin ready for the summer

The summer is almost here. It’s time to get your skin ready for the sun. Give your skin what it needs so it meets high temperatures soft and smooth. Follow these 5 easy steps and  get to summer-ready skin.

Healthy diet
Healthy diet is the first step of skin preparation for sun exposure. Eat a diet rich in natural antioxidant beta-carotene, which can be found in the red and orange fruits and vegetables such as carrots, tomatoes, apricots and melons to name a few. Include these groceries into your diet several weeks before strong sun exposure for optimum protection. In case that you ‘re in Solaris already we recommend you to try home-grown tomatoes from our garden in the Dalmatian village and thus get the tasty  daily dose of beta carotene.

Sunscreens
Protect your skin from harmful effects of UV rays using a sunscreen with a high SPF rating. Apply it to the skin 20 minutes before sun exposure, on all exposed parts of the body.  Quality protective sunscreens are available in all souvenir shops on the beach in Solaris. Still, it is best to stay in the shade between 10-16h, cover the body with light clothing and to wear a hat and sunglasses.

Hair removal
Various methods of hair removal can cause microdamage to the skin. Skin may be sensitive and vulnerable to irritation. Be sure to exfoliate the skin after waxing.

Exfoliation
Exfoliation is a very effective way to get to smooth and soft skin. It removes old skin cells, cleans pores and stimulates the skin regeneration process. Use a gentle scrub for delicate skin of your face and neck or a harsher scrub for other  parts of the skin, such as knees and elbows. Hydration
Thoroughly moisturize and nourish the skin with creams and lotions. Refresh your complexion applying thermal water several times a day, especially if you have sensitive skin. Hydration from the inside is extremely important. Drink a lot of water and ensure the protective function of the skin. Hydration is the step that is also going to refresh the skins glow.
